How to Get a Library Card

1. New staffs may apply for their Library Cards with their working IDs at the Circulation Desk on the first floor. When applying the Library Cards, they should hand in the recent one-inch photos on which they are not wearing a hat. The total number of items of each Library Card is 100. Retired people must cancel or extend their Library Cards by showing their certificates of retirement at the Circulation Desk.

2. PhD candidates, graduate students, undergraduates and associate degree students are requested to submit their recent one-inch photos to the monitor who will help them to apply for the Library Cards. All categories of readers may borrow up to a maximum of100 items.

How to Report the Loss of a Card and Obtain a Replacement

Loss of a Library Card must be reported to the Circulation Desk without delay. If the user cannot find out his Library Card one month after the loss is reported, he may bring his valid identification and a recent one-inch photo on which he is not wearing a hat to apply a replacement. The user has to be responsible for any items checked out on his card before he reports a loss of the card. If the user finds the old card after having gotten the new one, please cancel one card at Circulation Desk. If the user uses the new and old card at the same time, he will be punished by forbidding him to borrow books.

How to Obtain a Replacement for Damaged Card

If the user’s card is damaged, he may bring a recent one-inch photo to apply for a new card at Circulation Desk. Damaged Library Cards must be returned to the Library.

Departure from CMU

When the user leaves CMU (including graduation, changing jobs, suspending schooling, flunking out, going abroad, completing a seminar), he is requested to return all the books borrowed from the library, and cancel his card at the Circulation Desk.
